The Long Summer’s Silence

Greeting, all four of you who are still with us!

Rest assured this project is still on, despite the insistence of Real Life™ to interrupt the process.

I guess we should explain a bit of the process, which will hopefully explain why it’s taken so long:

There were three editors, as you recall: myself, Matt Delman, and Lia Keyes. Each submission needs to have the say from two editors. We say either Yes, No, or Maybe.

No from two editors means a rejection.

No from one editor, with no input from one more, means a wait for another editor.

Maybe from one editor and a No from the other editor makes for another process of decision-making.

Maybe from two editors means a third editor has to be the tie-breaker.

Maybe from one editor, and Yes from another, hikes it up higher on the list of acceptance priorities.

And then there are two stories which have a Yes from two editors.

Because we are down to two editors, this process has become a lot slower, so rejections are not going out as fast as they could be. And then there is Real Life™.

Matt and I really appreciate your patience with us (and you have every reason to get mad at us for the radio silence), and we apologize for the delay in working on this project.

If you would like to withdraw to submit elsewhere, feel free to email us and let us know.

Again, sorry.
